Quick-Add Templates

You can use templates to save and reuse common sets of items across different document types, such as quotes, proposals, or project briefs. Templates help you skip repetitive setup work and reduce manual errors.

The steps below use a quote as an example, but the same process applies to any document type that supports templates.

Watch the guided demo below to create a new template, use, and update an existing template.

You can also follow the same steps using the written guide below.

Create a Template

  1. Open a new or existing document (for example, a quote).
  2. Add the items or entries you want to reuse.
  3. Open the three-dot menu in the top right corner and select Save as Template.
  4. Enter a clear name and a short description into the template.
  5. Save your changes to store the template.

Use a Template

Option 1: Add a Template

  1. Open a new document.
  2. Open the three-dot menu and select Use Template.
  3. Select the template you want to insert.
  4. The items from your template automatically populate the document.

Option 2: Add Multiple Templates

You can insert more than one template into the same document. For example, when combining different project types or service categories.

You can also add the same template more than once if you need to enter separate orders with different quantities, pricing, or details. This lets you manage variations of the same work within a single document.

Update a Template

When you add a template to a document, you can change its items, prices, or descriptions without affecting the original template.

If you want to keep those changes for future use, you can update or save them as a new template.

  1. Open the three-dot menu and select Update Template.
  2. Choose one of the following options:
    1. Select an existing template to overwrite the existing template with your changes.
    2. Select Swap to Save New to save the changes as a new template.
