Freeze Columns in Table Views

1. Overview

Table views with many columns often require horizontal scrolling, which makes it easy to lose track of which row you're looking at. Freeze Column lets you pin one or more key columns, such as a name, ID, or status, so they stay in place while the rest of the table scrolls underneath, the same way freezing panes works in a spreadsheet.

2. Benefits

Freezing columns helps you:

• Keep identifying information (name, ID, status) visible while reviewing wide tables.
• Compare values across many fields without losing track of the row.
• Avoid scrolling back and forth just to check which record you're looking at.

This applies to any table view with more columns than fit on screen at once: long Student, Employee, Invoice, or backlog lists, for example.

You can also follow the same steps using the written guide below.

1. Open the table view for the record (for example, Students).

2. Click the view icon at the top right of the list, next to Advanced Filters and the filter icon, to open Manage Record Views.

3. Under TABLE COLUMNS, find the column you want to freeze and click its pencil (edit) icon.

4. In the Edit table column panel, under ADDITIONAL SETTINGS, select Freeze Column.

5. Click Apply changes.

6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 for any additional columns you want to freeze.

7. Click Save in Manage Record Views.

The frozen column(s) now stay in place while the rest of the table scrolls horizontally.

📘 Note: You can freeze up to three columns per table view.

4. Notes

• Freeze Column is set per column, from the same Edit table column panel used for display and width settings.
• The three-column limit applies per table view.
