Creating Fields

✅ Data elements within a record that store specific information.

Fields let you define how data is captured and displayed.

In this page, you will learn to create fields from System Settings or directly from a Record’s Entry Layout. Both methods let you customise field properties such as name, data type, default value, and visibility settings.

Watch the guided demo below to create a new field.

You can also follow the same steps using the written guide below.

This method lets you create a new field directly while editing a record layout, it's perfect for quickly adding fields without leaving the page.

  1. From the record view, click the (three dots) icon and select Configure Record.
  2. In the record configuration, open Entry Layout from the side navigation.
  3. Select the existing layout you use.
  4. Drag and drop a Field component into the layout.
  5. In the Inspect tab, click + to create a new field.
  6. Enter field details:
    • Name and Data Type. Internal ID will be auto-generated.
    • Expand Other Settings to set up placeholders, default values, or tooltips.
🚧
